Here and Harbor City across the street are my two go to places for dim sum in the area. Jade Garden is probably a better choice for larger groups as their restaurant has more space. There's usually a wait and they'll seat you only if your entire party is present. The last few times I've been here, there was a 30-60 minute wait. Luckily this time we were seated within 15 minutes of our arrival despite one of our party members running late.

The service was exceptionally good today with the carts of food coming around as soon as we were seated. The servers were super friendly and not pushy about giving us food (as is expected when we go for dim sum). We had a full table within seconds of sitting down. The dim sum was pretty standard. I thought the ha gao & the shrimp rice rolls were a bit too doughy with not enough shrimp. The shu mei was piping hot & perfect as were the short ribs. The shrimp and chive dumpling we ordered seemed a little dry and burnt on the outside but still tasted delicious.

BEST DIM SUM IN WASHINGTON STATE.

Jade Garden is a diamond in the rough. My husband, daughter and I came here on the recommendation of my brother-in-law. I've lived in King County for going on 4 years, I've been to about 9 different dim sum restaurants as south as Tumwater to find a good one, and I've finally found not a good/passable one, but an exceptional one.

The place was packed because of the sounders game, but this restaurant is ran in such an efficient and fluid motion the wait was only about 15 minutes...And compared to the wait times of 30-45 minutes in California I'm used to, this just shows that they also have a supple amount of tables in their layout which is not typical in downtown.

The kitchen obviously runs a smooth operation because none of the food suffered, despite the abnormal high amount of customers (according to the staff). At some other dim sums, no matter how early you go you can tell the food is old, simply because the dumplings are deflated or the sticky rice becomes a brick and doesn't smoothly fall apart when you open it. But not at jade garden, the textures/consistency and flavors were perfect. Even the tea is strong and perfectly brewed.

The staff was kind, not overly chatty which is typical with dim sum and absolutely understandable because they were packed to the gills. Not one employee showed signs of stress or frustration at all whatsoever which shows that Eric is running one hell of an operation.

I will 100% be back. I'll be bringing more people too.

    Amazing!

Best time to go is the weekend, the prices are much cheaper. I went on a Friday and was so sad eating my food knowing that I was paying almost $6 for a dish when I could've paid $4.

I really enjoyed the chow fun but definitely wished it had more beef and vegetables. Super oily but still delicious. The honey walnut shrimp was not worth it for almost 15 dollars, we did not get enough prawns but the walnuts were hella smack.

They have hot chili oil but you just have to ask the waiter. And they got the GOOD GOOD soy sauce the lee kum kee one lmao.

Outside looks bammer but inside it's actually pretty nice and decent.

    100% would recommend :-D

I came here during the morning on Saturday and wrote my name down. I expected the wait to be very long however they were very efficient and ended up waiting only 20 minutes. Right when we sat down, we were immediately greeted by the carts of Dimsum. We ordered the beef rice roll and gai lan. The beef rice roll was served hot and fresh, the gai lan was chewy and the garlic flavour was delicious. We also ordered the bbq pork buns which were hot as well and well-cooked. The best dish definitely had to be the har gow (shrimp dumplings) because they were an adequate size and the shrimp tasted very fresh. The waitresses weren't too pushy as well when offering you dishes which was a bonus for me.

Biiiiiig fan of this dim sum spot. I haven't been to many dim sum spots in this area but I've been to enough to know this is better quality than most ones I've visited.

    The Great:
+ The food seems so fresh and well made. Have you ever had shrimp dumplings but they were like teeny tiny? You won't get that here. All the dumplings and the baos are plump and steamy and full of stuffing! Excellent quality.
+ Variety of food. I thought they had just about everything I wanted from a dim sum place and more! They had like 3 types of shrimp dumplings instead of one. There were many different types of baos and noodles and soups.
+ Pricing. How reasonable!! Excellent pricing on all the dishes...even the large's! We ate with a group of 6 of us and it was only around $13 after tax and tip!! We were all stuffed!
+ Atmosphere. I believe they redid this place recently according to my friends. They've definitely upgraded the chairs and walls and whatnot.

    The OK
+ The porridge is not as flavorful as it could've been. Large portion and we enjoyed it but still a little bland.
+ No reservations so you better be prepared for the wait time!!

I will definitely revisit this place!!!
